The Media All-Stars from JD Smith Middle School toured the NBC TV (KVBC) studios on December 15th. Carla Rea - KVBC Director of Public Affairs - was the tour guide for the students. The students got to go inside Master Control, the Newsroom, and also inside the Television Studios during the Live broadcast of the 4pm News. Kenndal Tenney, Sophia Choy, Sue Manteris, Tom Holly, Kevin Janison, and Jim Snyder all talked to the students about the "ins & outs" of a live Television news broadcast. After the 4pm News was over, the students got to ask questions and solicit tips from the pros on how to be a better anchor for their own school's daily broadcasts. The students also got to sit at the news desk/anchor seats and get their picture taken with Kendall Tenney, Sophia Choi, Kevin Janison, and Tom Hawley. NBC News Channel 3 website (www.kvbc.com).
